The Talbot County Republican party believes that the foundation of the United States, and the basis of American Exceptionalism, is the set of principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence — that each individual is endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights and among the most important are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The free exercise of these rights can only occur when individual freedom and private property are assured by the rule of law, and when the role of government is limited.
