Connie Sheer is a native Marylander who moved to Talbot County 20 years ago. Her last position before moving here was Office Manager for a private, level 5 school that served high risk students.
She became an active member of many organizations after moving to the Eastern Shore. Her involvement included serving as historian for the St. Michaels Woman’s Club, participating in the Mid-Atlantic Maritime Festival which benefited children in Talbot County, and serving on the board of the Women’s Auxiliary and the House Committee at the Miles River Yacht Club. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Newcomers Club in St. Michaels.
In 2006, Connie joined the Mid-Shore League of Republican Women (MSLRW). She served on the Board in several capacities, including being President from January 2015 to January 2017. During that time she also supported the RCCTC with fund raising, poll activities, voter registration, and campaign management.
After serving two years as President of MSLRW, her focus turned toward community service. She founded the Lady Patriots of the Eastern Shore (LPES), which is a member organization of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation and a 501(c)(3). The mission of LPES is to improve the lives of our Veterans, First Responders, and their families through outreach and support. As an example of their work, they are currently raising funds for a track chair for a disabled veteran. Connie is also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Connie and her husband Leon have five children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her husband is a physician and is an active duty pilot with the Civil Air Patrol. They reside in Wittman with their two dogs, Toby and Cooper.
