Nick has served as the CEO of a Washington public affairs company, as the U.S. Commissioner of Public Buildings for the General Services Administration, as a legislator in the Connecticut Legislature, and as mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut. When he was elected mayor of Bridgeport, he ran as a Republican in a city whose voters were 94% registered Democrats. An amazing accomplishment. He won his first election by a total of 9 votes. As the Mayor, he oversaw reorganization of the City government relating to housing development, zoning and planning, and economic development, and he established the first economic development department and public/private development corporation (Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation) for the reuse of excess industrial properties.
Currently, Nick is a principal with Panuzio and Giordano Public Affairs, LLC.
Nick received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, a Masters in Educational Management, an Honorary Doctorate of Laws, and an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters, all from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
